Critical Reflection
This module began by laying the foundation for critical thinking. Guided by Paul-Elder’s framework, we learnt to ask specific questions that leads to more questions. One key feature of this module that sets it apart is how we were trained. Before diving into critical thinking and its terminologies, we were asked for our own interpretation before learning what those terms really meant. I found this particularly effective because it highlights how we currently think and informs us what are some questions we could have asked ourselves before sharing our thoughts on a subject. This was apparent when I found myself questioning what are the possible guiding questions, assumptions, and reasoning behind almost everything I read, watched, or heard – be it newspaper articles, videos, or when talking to friends.
